Best children’s activities in Britain

Back in June (listen we’re moving house, moving offices, the bear turned one, we’re dodging swine flu, working, blah and so on, so we have a little BG backlog…), anyway, back in June What’s on for Little Ones announced the winners following their search for the best activities for children in Britain.
Sponsored by Organix and Prima Baby & Pregnancy Magazine, the awards celebrate the best pre-school activities across the UK.
Runner Beans,a Birmingham-based group that run health and fitness programmes tailored specifically for young children, won both the Best New Activity award and the Organix Food Hero award.
The winner of the Best National Baby Development Activity 2009 is Water Babies, a group that run baby swimming classes across the country.
The Best National Toddler Development Activity is Sign and Sign, Britain’s longest running baby signing scheme, while the Best National Pre-schooler Development Activity has been named as Gymboree.
For full details of all of the amazing activities across the UK and award winners visit the What’s on for Little Ones website.
Having taken the bear swimming today and nervously dunked him under the water, sneaking a look out of the corner of my eye for disapproving looks from concerned parents (or life guards) I think we’ll be checking out the baby swimming classes before our first holiday abroad at the beginning of September.
Oh, and failing to understand the new little language our son has developed which consists of ‘da?!’ which is a question, ‘daya’ which is an unknown and ‘blah’, also an unknown, I think we might try out Sing & Sign too.
