When your child hits 2.5 things change.

They get pretty damn clever.  They realise that they can come into your bedroom and climb into your bed whenever they like.  They know and understand that you’ll bribe them to go to bed. Usually with one more book, and just one more, and then a bottle of milk.

So I like things that make the bedtime routine easier.

And going to bed dressed as a zebra is one of those things.

The Twinkle Tog from Dreamgenii is a sleeping bag suit – as soon as we got it out of the packet, bear wanted to get in it (it was around 11am at this time).  I think we went to Tesco in it – at this stage of toddler-hood it is far easier to let your child wear whatever they like.

Our only near downfall was after bear’s first question having got into the suit - ‘zebra hat too mummy?!’.  Luckily my distraction techniques kicked in quickly and the lack of matching black and white hat was soon forgotten.  Although actually I think a little hat would be quite a nice addition.

The sleepsuit isn’t overly thick so sometimes on a cold night bear jumps into bed and has his duvet too which is good as no fear of overheating .  On milder nights it’s great on it’s on with no covers.  It’s good for taking sleeping children home in the car as it’s easy to get them in to the car seat.
