Step over the destruction

Today I made a very unlike me decision.  I left every single mess that was created.  Didn’t tidy, didn’t move anything, straighten, shuffle or rearrange.

My husband was on a nightshift last night, so I decided, while he was gone, to leave the handy work of our 19 month old bear, for him to see, full force, in all its glory.

I took pride in leaving the breakfast dishes on the side including cereal bowl, cups, banana skin and a spattering of muesli across the floor and sofa.

Next, shower time.

Bathroom bin becomes the new shape sorter.

Out of the shower, I attempt to get dressed.

While my son empties my make up bag onto the landing, one brush and pot at a time.

He then continues to bite chunks out of my make up sponge, eating one mouthful, throwing one mouthful down the stairs, over and over and over.

Downstairs, I leave every toy that he discards.  Wander past a trail of shoes, fridge magnets and half digested crisp breads.

Husband woke up and 2pm.

Headed to the shower.  Stepped over make up and newly appointed shape sorter.

Ventured downstairs.  Did collect lumps of make up sponge and present to me.

Had breakfast.  Stacked cereal bowl next to our breakfast carnage.

Proceeded to make his packed lunch.

Don’t get me wrong, we chatted, had a cuddle, caught up a little.  Then he left for work.

Leaving additional carnage.

He didn’t even notice that I hadn’t lifted a finger!!!

Note to self, spend less time tidying up the house.

  1. LMAO! Or maybe he was afraid you would ask for help if he commented!

  2. That is definitely a good idea. I rarely tidy this house!

  3. Lol! This is my pet pieve with my husband! I will leave the vacuum in the centre of the room to remind him he said he would hoover – and he will step over it and later ask me where it is??!! This made me laugh though. Great write.

    • Ooh I know that feeling! Husband always asks where things are – where’s the cheese?! Have you tried the fridge?! Is there any clean washing? Have you put any on?! LOL!!
