We’ve had the pleasure of testing some must have items from JoJo Maman Bebe recently – straight on to the reviews, there’s a chilli on the hob and I’m hungry!

First the Baxx Bag RRP £20.

This is great because it’s simply a huge circle of fabric with a fleecy lining.  When you release the draw string handles it opens out into a big play mat.

This is a good bag when you need to throw the essentials into something and rush off.  Then you can open it out, put the toys you’ve slung in on it, and voila a portable play area.

This is best suited to little ones who are just starting to roll around or play with something sitting up.

I’d really like it if it came with a couple of little mesh bags or something.  It does have a pocket on the outside but only a small one. With a couple of little inner bags you could stash nappy and wipes in one, and a change of clothes in the other.

Second, the baby electric toothbrush RRP £8.

Now, we got off to a rocky start with this one.  It comes with a toothbrush head and a rubbery head, but I managed to snap the rubbery head off removing it, because I am the world’s worst for not reading instruction manuals – I like to figure things out myself.  Well, that reduced our options to one head within moments of opening the packet.

The bear still isn’t convinced by the ‘gentle vibrations’ but he does have a good chew which is a marked improvement.  We’ve also tried the little cloth bunny with ears from Toys R Us but I usually come away with teeth marks in my fingers.  Bear has his first dentist appointment in 6 months, so I am determined he’ll get a sticker for looking after his milkies.

The electric toothbrush will hopefully become a bathtime friend not foe over time.
