The Gallery: Pink, Blue or… White

When we fell pregnant with the bear we decided not to find out the sex.  We had a funny instinctive feeling that it was a boy (I was eating a lot, was pretty damn big and far too un-dainty to be carrying a princess), but we waited until the big moment to find out.  The moment when you’re so relieved to have delivered a baby and not a hippo, that you really don’t care either way.

Anyway, a beautiful little boy arrived and we were over the moon.  Shattered beyond our wildest imaginations, looking like we needed to go into rehab, terrified of puke, poo and wee, but thrilled.

When you don’t find out the sex of your baby-to-be, what do you do to satisfy the urge to shop – you buy white.

So we did.

The nursery before the stork came.  No photos in the frames, no mess, so quiet and peaceful….so strange.

Teeny tiny white clothes.  White for a very short period of time….

This is my entry for The Gallery over at Sticky Fingers.  Take part once, and you’ll never miss a week again.  It’s like therapy.

  1. Aww that is beautiful and such a lovely story. The nursery does look so peaceful. It doesn’t stay like that for long does it? x

  2. Love this!

  3. Aww. This takes me back. I didn’t know I was having a girl until 34 weeks – so I had a lot of white outfits and about two pink when she was born.
