Last minute stocking fillers – handmade crayons

If, like us you’ve got ice cream tubs full of blunt, snapped and dog-eared crayons, then this is a great way to reinvent them, and make some last minute stocking fillers.

Step 1 – peel the paper labels from around 8-10 small crayons.

2. Break them up into small pieces and put into silicone molds.

3. Microwave for about 6 minutes or use the oven on a low heat for about 12 minutes – try not to over cook them or all of the colours merge into one brown sludge – you want the chunks of colours to blend slightly but not completely mix.

4. Leave to cool, or place in the fridge for an hour.

5. Gift wrap and add a label.

N.B – using the microwave is my advice only and did not result in any explosions in this house.  If you are concerned that any parts of the wrapping may remain and may contain foil, then use the oven!
