If like 50% of the population you’re a hater and not a lover, this is what you must do with sprouts this Christmas Day. This is a long-standing tradition pre-Christmas dinner in our house.
Remove 10-12 raw sprouts from the ‘to be prepped’ pile.
Find an empty pop bottle (of the 1l variety or more)
Assign roles – batter, bowler and fielders.
Choose a location – the garden usually being the safest option, weather permitting.
Begin a rounder/baseball/cricket style game (based on your preferred sport of choice).
Add tinsel and left over decorations to the bat (pop bottle) after play has finished and hold a ceremony for the winner.
And there you have, Sprout Ball, or if you’re a little more old school, try Sponkers – like conkers but far more amusing.
Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
